COMMAND & CONTROL SYSTEM:
INTEGRATION AND SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
As a specific application of information technology in military operation, based on C4ISR concept,
several C2 (Command & Control) systems are designed and developed for sea and air operation. |
System functions
- Acquisition, processing, synthesis, presentation and distribution of received data from different
types of sources
- Display of recognized surveillance situation for operational support and command & control
- Information exchange and data transmission
- Sensor integration
- Management, coordination and control of operational activities
Command & Control Software
- Recognized surveillance situation set-up with user-friendly MMI (Man Machine Interface),
including many objects: track/plot, map, grids, geographic area, military unit symbol, defended
area and graphics. There are several operator support functions: off-centering, scale selection,
display selection of arbitrary object, zooming
- Large display area containing detailed map and overlay information: territorial border, river,
main road, ATS routes, latitude/longitude grid, island, named point, etc.
- Acquisition, processing and management of hundreds to thousands of information objects:
track, plot, radar site, military unit, geographic area, defended area, lethal envelope area, etc.
- Operational support functions: threat evaluation, target engagement evaluation, target
assignment, target movement calculation, approach/intercept calculation, distance ruler, etc
- Other support functionalities: target simulation for training, surveillance data recording and
replay, recognized picture printing, user administration and event log.
- Operational system: Window 9x/NT/2000 and Linux. MMI in Vietnamese/English.
 External communication
- The C2 system can be connected to the network to receive information from different types
of sources and simultaneously distributes data to many external agencies
- Communication link can be set up via public telephone network, packet switching network,
etc.
Hardware
- System equipment is commercial standard product, as normal PCs, selected to be
compliant with dedicated requirement
- The system hardware also comprises of other devices: router, RAS, modem, switch/hub
